Nanny-less again

Nathan’s latest nanny quit last week. It turns out she got a job in a garments factory. Sure, the salary’s larger, but I wonder if she considered the costs of food, room rent, and transportation, in her decision.

In talking about this latest nanny loss, Cathy and I wondered whether we may have been cursed. No one should lose as many nannies as we have, and we’re not bad people. We’ve treated our nannies as virtual members of family, with respect and decency, really. Our standards aren’t too high: we have an open-communication policy and all we require is integrity and patience, above all else. Why are we getting nannies like these?

* sigh* Anyone know a good nanny?

  1. I think that live in nannies feel more like servants. After a while that status becomes uncomfortable and unbearable.
